<br />Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trails Committee Minutes August 22, 2022 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br />Architect Gruber stated it was currently shown on the west side, adjacent to the parking <br />lot and was proposed to be 10-feet wide. <br /> <br />Chair Fields requested clarification on size of the creek and buffer from 1 st Street to the <br />trail. Landscape Architect Gruber discussed the proposed slope and width of the trail. <br /> <br />Member Houston asked about the line of trees. Landscape Architect Gruber discussed <br />the idea to be able to see through the park. Member Houston asked if one path was <br />possible. Landscape Architect Gruber stated one could be removed and similar <br />comments had been received. <br /> <br />Member Nibert requested an aerial view of existing and proposed conditions. <br /> <br />Chair Fields discussed relocation of the creek and proposed trails. Landscape Architect <br />Gruber explained the changes between 2014 and 2022 based on requirements fo r the <br />creek. Mr. Larson discussed issues with relocating the creek. Landscape Architect Gruber <br />discussed the need to achieve a balance the between residents’ desires and regulatory <br />agency requirements. <br /> <br />A BPTC member discussed previous flooding of the senior center on Kottinger Street and <br />issues with covering the creek. Mr. Larson discussed the hydrology of the creek and <br />upstream detention basins. <br /> <br />Member Maciel indicated support for the plan except for the mixed use existing pathway <br />and suggested one wide path. He suggested two parking lots, with emergency access. <br />Chair Fields expressed concern about traffic congestion following big events. <br /> <br />A BPTC member asked about bike parking. Landscape Architect Gruber discussed bike <br />parking. <br /> <br />A BPTC member stated he liked the scalability of the park and orientation of the <br />bandstand. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />7. Updates from the Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> <br />Chair Fields provided an update on the Parks and Recreation Commission actions. <br /> <br />8.
