11.36.050 <br />(Pleasanton Supp. No. 28, 7-22) 310 <br />11.36.050 Marking of loading zones. <br /> Loading zones shall be indicated by yellow paint <br />upon the top of all curbs within such zones, and passen- <br />ger loading zones shall be indicated by white paint upon <br />the top of all curbs in said zones. (Prior code § 5-3.12) <br /> <br />11.36.060 Authority to establish bus zones. <br /> The city traffic engineer is authorized to establish <br />bus zones opposite curb space for the loading and <br />unloading of buses and to determine the location <br />thereof; <br /> A. Such bus zones shall be indicated by signs <br />or a red line stenciled with white letters “BUS ZONE” <br />upon the top of the curb. <br /> B. No bus shall stand in any bus zone longer <br />than necessary to load or unload passengers. <br /> C. No person shall stop or park any vehicle <br />except a bus in any bus zone. (Prior code § 5-3.15) <br /> <br />11.36.070 Authority to establish taxicab zones. <br /> A. Consistent with the provisions of any ordi- <br />nance relating to the regulation of taxicabs, the city traf- <br />fic engineer is authorized to determine the location of <br />and to mark taxi stands. <br /> B. Such taxi stands shall be indicated by signs <br />or a white line stenciled with the words “TAXI ONLY” <br />upon the tops of all curbs and places specified for taxi- <br />cabs only. <br /> C. No driver of any taxicab shall park the same <br />upon any public highway in any business district in the <br />city for any period of time longer than is necessary to <br />discharge or receive passengers then occupying or then <br />waiting for such taxicab, provided that a taxicab may be <br />parked in a taxi stand established pursuant to subsection <br />A of this section. <br /> D. When official signs or markings designating <br />such taxi stands are in place, no person other than the <br />driver of a taxicab shall stop or park any vehicle other <br />than a taxicab in any taxi stand. (Prior code § 5-3.20) <br /> <br />11.36.080 Funeral zones. <br /> No operator of any vehicle shall stop or park the <br />vehicle for any period of time longer than is necessary <br />for the loading or unloading of passengers and not to <br />exceed three minutes at any place between the limit <br />markers or signs placed within the projected real prop- <br />erty boundaries of any undertaking establishment, pri- <br />vate residence, or any public or private place at any time <br />during or within 40 minutes prior to the beginning of <br />any funeral or funeral service, unless the operator of the <br />vehicle is directed by or has received permission from <br />the director or other person in charge of such funeral or <br />funeral service to park such vehicle in such place; pro- <br />vided, that such director or person in charge shall have <br />placed and maintained prior to and during the time limit <br />specified in this section, two approved portable signs, <br />one at each extremity of such place, upon the sidewalk <br />or pavement area and within two feet of the curb. (Prior <br />code § 5-3.25) <br /> <br />11.36.090 No stopping zones. <br /> No operator of any vehicle shall stop such vehicle <br />in any of the following places: <br /> A. Within any median or divisional island or <br />parkway unless authorized and clearly indicated with <br />appropriate signs or markings; <br /> B. On either side of any median island; <br /> C. On the main or through traffic side of any <br />divisional island when indicated by appropriate signs or <br />markings; <br /> D. Adjacent to the right-hand curb on any ma- <br />jor arterial street where the parking lane has been omit- <br />ted when indicated by appropriate signs or markings; <br /> E. In any area where the city traffic engineer <br />determines that the stopping of a vehicle would consti- <br />tute a traffic hazard or would endanger life or property <br />when such area is indicated by appropriate signs or <br />markings; <br /> F. In any area established by resolution of the <br />council as a no stopping area when such area is indi- <br />cated by appropriate signs or markings; <br /> G. In any area where the stopping of any vehi- <br />cle would constitute a traffic hazard or would endanger <br />life or property; <br /> H. At any place within 20 feet of a crosswalk at <br />an intersection in any business district when such place <br />is indicated by appropriate signs or markings except that <br />a bus may stop at a designated bus stop; <br /> I. At any place within 20 feet of the approach <br />to any traffic signal, boulevard stop sign, or official elec- <br />tric flashing device when such place is indicated by ap- <br />propriate signs or markings except that a bus may stop at <br />a designated bus stop. (Prior code § 5-3.30) <br /> <br />11.36.100 No parking zones. <br /> No operator of any vehicle shall park such vehicle <br />in any of the following places: <br /> A. In any no stopping zone; <br /> B. On the frontage road side of any divisional <br />island when indicated by appropriate signs or markings; <br /> C. Upon, along or across any railway track in <br />such manner as to hinder, delay, or obstruct the move- <br />ment of any car traveling upon such track;
