(Prior <br />code § 5-3.01) <br /> <br />11.36.020 Curb markings. <br /> The city traffic engineer is authorized to place <br />and, when required in this chapter, shall place the fol- <br />lowing traffic-control devices in the form of curb mark- <br />ings to indicate stopping or parking regulations pursuant <br />to this chapter, and the curb markings shall have mean- <br />ings as follows: <br /> A. “Red” means no stopping or parking at any <br />time except as permitted by the Vehicle Code, and ex- <br />cept that a bus may stop in a red zone marked or signed <br />as a bus zone. <br /> B. “Yellow” means no stopping or parking any <br />day for any purpose other than the loading or unloading <br />of passengers or materials by vehicles engaged in com- <br />mercial deliveries, provided that the loading and unload- <br />ing of passengers or materials shall not extend beyond <br />the time necessary therefor, and in no event, for passen- <br />gers, for more than three minutes, and for materials for <br />more than 20 minutes, and such restrictions shall apply <br />unless specific days/times are noted on an adjacent sign. <br /> C. “White” means no stopping or parking for <br />any purpose other than loading or unloading of passen- <br />gers, or for the purpose of depositing mail in an adjacent <br />mail box, beyond the time necessary therefor and in any <br />event shall not exceed three minutes, and such restric- <br />tions shall apply unless specific days/times are noted on <br />an adjacent sign. <br /> D. “Green” means no standing or parking for a <br />period of time longer than 20 minutes at any time be- <br />tween 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on any day except Sun- <br />days and holidays. <br /> E. “Blue” indicates parking limited exclusively <br />to vehicles of physically handicapped persons. <br /> F. When the city traffic engineer as authorized <br />under this title has caused curb markings to be placed, <br />no person shall stop or park a vehicle adjacent to any <br />such legible curb marking in violation of any of the pro- <br />visions of this section. (Ord. 2165 § 1, 2017; Ord. 1222 <br />§ 19, 1985; prior code § 5-3.02) <br /> <br />11.36.030 Authority to establish loading zones. <br /> The city traffic engineer is authorized to determine <br />the location of and to mark loading zones and passenger <br />loading zones as provided in Section 11.36.020, as fol- <br />lows: <br /> A. At any place in any business district; <br /> B. Elsewhere in front of the entrance to any <br />place of business or in front of any hall or place used for <br />public assembly. (Prior code § 5-3.10) <br /> <br />11.36.040 Extent of loading zones. <br /> In no event shall more than one-half of the total <br />curb length of any block be reserved for loading zone <br />purposes.
