FOR LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY SERVICES FOR <br /> THE TRI-VALLEY CITIES COALITION NOT TO EXCEED $750,000 FOR A <br /> FIVE-YEAR TERM AND APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> WITH TRI-VALLEY CITIES OF DUBLIN, LIVERMORE, SAN RAMON AND <br /> TOWN OF DANVILLE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton in collaboration with the Tri-Valley cities of Dublin, Livermore, <br /> San Ramon and Town of Danville is seeking to retain legislative advocacy services to <br /> implement the Tri-Valley Cities Legislative Framework (Attachment 1). <br /> Legislative advocacy services will assist the Tri-Valley Cities (TVC) toward building <br /> consensus and a united approach to legislative advocacy for solutions that will serve the <br /> residents and businesses of the Tri-Valley. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends the City Council approve the Professional Services Agreement with <br /> Townsend Public Affairs, Inc., for legislative advocacy services for the Tri-Valley Cities <br /> coalition in an amount not to exceed $750,000 for a five-year term (Attachment 2) and <br /> to approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Tri-Valley Cities of <br /> Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon, and Town of Danville to equally share the expenses <br /> related to the Agreement (Attachment 3). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The proposed Professional Services Agreement with Townsend Public Affairs, Inc. is in <br /> the amount not to exceed $750,000 for a five-year term. As outlined in the MOU, the <br /> City of Pleasanton's portion of the legislative advocacy services will not exceed $30,000 <br /> annually. Sufficient funds are included in the FY 2022/23 General Fund budget. <br /> Page of <br />
