15
THE CITY OF
= '# •-' "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
PLEASANTON_
August 16, 2022
Operations Services
TITLE: RECONSIDERATION OF REGIONAL RECYCLED WATER FILL
STATION AGREEMENT
SUMMARY
On June 21 , 2022, the City Council unanimously approved a regional agreement for a
recycled water fill station to be located at 5997 Parkside Drive, at which the building is
owned by Zone 7 Water Agency (Zone 7) and the parking lot is owned by the City of
Pleasanton. Given neighborhood input based on noticing of the project, at its July 19
meeting the Council requested reconsideration of the regional agreement for the fill
station project.
RECOMMENDATION
Reconsider Pleasanton's continued participation in the regional agreement for a
recycled water fill station to be located at 5997 Parkside Drive and provide direction to
City staff regarding next steps.
FISCAL IMPACT
The construction and 2022 operation cost for the fill station is estimated at $481,500
($181,500 for construction and $ 300,000 for annual operation). Each participating
agency would contribute one-third of the project costs, making Pleasanton's initial
funding $160,500. Based on City Council's June 21 approval of the agreement, an
appropriation of $160,500 was made to project # 22900 Recycled Water Fill Station
Project for the Fiscal Year 2022-23 budget. If the City of Pleasanton rescinds its
approval of the agreement, the City is obligated to pay for its proportionate share of
expenditures made to date. Staff estimates this to be $25,000.
