<br />Planning Commission Minutes Page 2 of 4 April 27, 2022 <br /> <br />The meeting minutes of April 27, 2022 were approved with the proposed changes from <br />Commissioner Allen. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />3. Public Comment from the audience regarding items not listed on the agenda – <br />Speakers are encouraged to limit comments to 3 minutes. <br /> <br />There were no speaker cards submitted. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> <br />4. On-Site Public Notification Policy – Review and provide comments on the draft on- <br />site public notification policy for certain development projects. <br /> <br />Ellen Clark, Community Development Director, presented a PowerPoint overview of the draft <br />On-Site Public Notification Policy for the Planning Commission’s review and comments. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />There were no speaker cards submitted. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commissioner Brown asked if further specification of the signs had been considered. Ms. Clark <br />stated a clear example and template, including font type and size were provided. She stated <br />other fixed elements could be considered if desired by the Commission. Commissioner Brown <br />suggested use of QR codes to link the physical media to the City website. <br /> <br />Commissioner Allen asked if a site with multiple frontages required multiple signs. Ms. Clark <br />stated one sign was required on the most prominent frontage, with additional signs required <br />based on the characteristics of the property. Commissioner Allen suggested deleting the first <br />sentence of the first paragraph of the requirements regarding number and placement of signs. <br />Ms. Clark stated staff would align the first and second sentences based on Planning Commission <br />direction. <br /> <br />Chair Pace asked about the proposed language related to projects requiring signs . Ms. Clark <br />explained that the language was modified to encompass all projects requiring public hearings, <br /> <br />Commissioner Brown presented the document utilized in the City of Surrey (British Columbia) <br />outlining sign specifications and highlights for development proposal sign specifications. He <br />suggested consistency and inclusion of key components of information. <br /> <br />Commissioner Allen agreed that the example provided useful information. She suggested a <br />visual of the proposed project rather than a map. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gaidos suggested avoiding artist renderings. <br />
