Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trails Committee Agenda Report August 22, 2022 Item 4 SUBJECT: TRAFFIC ENGINEERING PROJECT TIMELINES AND GRANT STATUS UPDATES SUMMARY Updates on project timelines and grant submittals. These updates are provided to inform the BPTC on the status of several high priority projects within the city and current grant submittals. RECOMMENDATION None – Information item only. PROJECTS: West Las Positas Boulevard (WLP) Corridor Plan – WLP is the #1 ranked corridor in the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (BPMP). The WLP Corridor Plan project was initiated in 2018 to create a new vision for the corridor, featuring an all ages and abilities bikeway network and improvements to pedestrian facilities. This project was complete and ready to present to City Council in February of 2020. Presentation of this project to the City Council was delayed due to the pandemic. Due to the continued settlement of the WLP corridor and the need to repair the settling immediately, this has been combined with the West Las Positas reconstruction project (the new project name is West Las Positas Multimodal Reconstruction Project). In early August 2022, the city awarded Mark Thomas the design contract and the preliminary schedule is as follows: • Site Investigation and Surveys August 2022 to October 2022 • Concept Development and Stakeholder Outreach October 2022 to December 2022 • Public Meetings January 2023 • 35% Plans and Estimates January 2023 to March 2023 • 65% PS&E April 2023 to May 2023 • 95% PS&E June 2023 to September 2023 • 100% PS&E October 2023 to March 2024 • Bid Plans and Specs December 2023 • Advertise and Award January 2024 to March 2024 • Construction April 2024 to April 2025 Included in the Mark Thomas scope of work are two meetings where the project will be brought to the BPTC for review and feedback. The design and construction will use City, Measure B and BB, TDA and other potential funding sources. The design contract is slightly over 1 million
