<br />Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trails Committee Minutes April 25, 2022 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br />The Committee Members introduced themselves and discussed the experience <br />and reasons for serving. <br /> <br />3. Public comment from the audience regarding items not listed on the agenda <br /> <br />Todd Nelson discussed the prior practice of publishing future agenda topics and <br />suggested the Committee discuss the final term of agreement between Zone 7 and <br />the City; how to prioritize $95,000 that was earmarked for trails maintenance; how <br />to prioritize $50,000 that the City received when the meadowlark trail was <br />cancelled; what Zone 7 was doing on the Alamo Canal; discussion with Livermore <br />funding and successful bridge development; and update on the BAR T project to <br />build bike infrastructure through Dublin/Pleasanton station. <br /> <br />MATTERS BEFORE THE COMMITTEE <br /> <br />4. Review Trails Master Plan Update <br /> <br />Landscape Architect Assistant Hosterman provided an update on the Trails Master Plan. <br /> <br />In response to Chair Fields, Ms. Hosterman confirmed the required easements for the <br />Southeastern Hills Trail associated with the Spotorno development; current construction <br />of the Lund Trail and trail access; and potential field trip to the trails. <br /> <br />In response to Member Houston, Ms. Hosterman explained the envisioned Foley Trail. <br /> <br />In response to Ms. Piekarski, Ms. Hosterman stated she would provide an update on the <br />proposed completion of the Lund Trail. <br /> <br />In response to Chair Fields, Ms. Hosterman confirmed that the do tted red line was the <br />eventual connection from Lund Ranch to the Callippe Preserve and Sycamore. Member <br />Fields asked about the mentioned survey. Ms. Hosterman provided the URL for the <br />survey which was also included in the agenda packet. <br /> <br />Member Houston expressed disappointment that the end of West Las Positas would not <br />continue. Ms. Hosterman discussed the expired East Bay Parks MOU and potential future <br />completion after the Tyler staging area completion. Member Houston asked for a timeline <br />on development of the private property related to the Marilyn Murphy Kane Trail. Ms. <br />Hosterman explained the preliminary review process and potential timeline. Member <br />Houston discussed the public comments related to the Aug ustin Bernal Trail and conflict <br />on mixed trails. Ms. Hosterman stated the trail would be mountain bike only. <br /> <br />Member Piekarski discussed bikers using hikers only trails. She stated she was surprised <br />at how far along the trail was since it was not on the priority list. Ms. Hosterman stated <br />the Augustin Bernal Trail was prioritized by the Council with design started in August <br />2020.
