CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE N0. 441 _ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A UNIFORN PLUMBING CODE, REGULATING THE CONSTRUCTION, ALTER- <br />ATION AND REPAIR OF FLUNBING AND SEWERS: PROVIDING FOR PERMITS, FEES AND PENALTIES: <br />AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice has been duly given and published, and hearings held <br />pursuant to the provisions of Section 50022.1, Government Code of the State of <br />California, and no sufficient protest having been made, and the best interest of <br />the City of Pleasanton appearinE to be serveu by adoption of this Uniform <br />Plumbing code; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 12 ADOPTION OF UNIFORN PLUNBING CODE, <br /> There is hereby adopted by the City of Pleasanton that certain code <br />known as the Uniform Plumbing Code, more particularly described below, except <br />such portions as are hereinafter amended, modified or deleted, and the same is <br />hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and the <br />same shall become in full force and effect at the time this Ordinance becomes <br />effective. <br /> Said Uniform Plumbing Code is the Western Plumbing Officials Uniform <br />Plumbing Code, 1964 Edition, October, 1963, a certified copy of which is on file <br />with the City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />SECTION_2_:_A!~ND!~NT_S,_MODIFICATIONS, ADDITIONS TO AND DEI~ETIONS ]~0MTHE~_A_~D~_PTED <br /> ~ODE. <br /> The adopted Code is hereby changed in the following respects. <br /> a. Amendments or Modifications. <br /> (1) ~enever in the Adopted Code the words "Administrative <br /> Authority" or '~ssistants" are used, they shall mean <br /> the Director of Public Works of the City of Pleasenigh, <br /> or his agent as defined in Section 3 of this Ordinance. <br /> (2) Section 1.12 is amended to read as follows: "Section <br /> 1.12 - cost of permit. A fee for each plumbing permit <br /> shall be paid to the City prior to issuance of the permit, <br /> a,,eh fee shall be in the amoullL ~c~ fo[th in a fee <br /> 8ChM, lo ,~p~a ~y ~e~olution of the City Council. <br /> Such fee shall be doubled where work for which a permit <br /> is required by this Code is started or proceeded with <br /> prior to obtaining said permit. The payment of such <br /> double fee shall not relieve any persons from fully <br /> complying with the requirements of this Code in the <br /> execution of the ~ork nor from any other p~nalties <br /> prescribed by Ordinance." <br /> (3) Section 403 (b) is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 403 (b). Table 4-3, governing ferrous pipe, <br /> and Table 4-4, governing copper, brass or equivalent <br /> pipe, show the maximtnnnumber of fixture units allowed <br /> on any vertical or horizontal drainage pipe, building <br /> drain or building sewer of a given size; the maximum <br /> number of fixture units allowed on any branch interval <br /> of a given size; and the maximum length (in feet) of <br /> any vertical drainage pipe of a given size." <br /> (4) Section 406 (f) is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 406 (f). Each cleanout unless installed <br /> under an approved cover plate shall be above grade, <br /> readily accessible, and so located as to serve the <br /> purpose for which it is intended. Cleanouts <br /> located under cover plates shall be so installed as <br /> to provide the clearances and accessibility required <br /> by this section. A four inch cast iron body clean- <br /> out and fitting of the same material as approved for <br /> the building drain shall be installed plumb and level <br /> on the lo~er terminus of the main house drain and <br /> shall extend three inches above finished house <br /> ~rade.' <br /> <br /> <br />
