Collection Services <br /> Franchise Agreement with Pleasanton Garbage Service <br /> <br />City of Pleasanton Page 56 June 7, 2022 <br />Discarded Materials handling activities (including, without limitation, land adjacent to the Approved 1986 <br />Transfer Site). 1987 <br />Contractor shall not transfer loads from one vehicle to another on any public street, unless it is 1988 <br />necessary to do so because of mechanical failure; hot load (combustion of material in the truck); 1989 <br />accidental damage to a vehicle; or unless approved by the City. 1990 <br />B. Cleanup. During Collection, the Contractor shall clean up Litter (whether or not Contractor has 1991 <br />caused the Litter) and Unacceptable Spills in the immediate vicinity of any Discarded Materials 1992 <br />storage area (including the areas where Collection Bins and Drop Boxes are delivered for Collection). 1993 <br />Each Collection vehicle shall carry a broom and shovel at all times for the purpose of cleanup of 1994 <br />Litter and Unacceptable Spills. Cat-litter or similar absorbent material shall be used for liquid spill 1995 <br />cleanups. The Contractor shall discuss instances of repeated spillage not caused by it directly with 1996 <br />the Generator responsible and will report such instances to City. In situations where the Contractor 1997 <br />has already attempted to do so without success, the City will attempt to rectify such situations with 1998 <br />the Generator. 1999 <br />C. Covering of Loads. Contractor shall cover all open Drop Boxes at pick-up location prior to Transport 2000 <br />to the Disposal Site or Processing Site. 2001 <br />5.14.3 Hours of Collection 2002 <br />Contractor shall maintain a current schedule of routes for Collection operations and shall make such 2003 <br />schedule available to the City Contract Manager, or their designee, upon request. Such schedule shall be 2004 <br />subject to final review and approval by the City Contract Manager or their designee. If, in the judgement 2005 <br />of the City Contract Manager or their designee, conditions warrant a temporary departure from the days 2006 <br />and hours of Collection as determined by the City Council, City Contract Manager or their designee may 2007 <br />authorize Collection on such days and during such hours as City Contract Manager or their designee deems 2008 <br />appropriate after consultation with Contractor. To the extent reasonably possible, Collection on each 2009 <br />route shall commence at the same point, at the same time, and follow the same route each time 2010 <br />Collections are made. 2011 <br />5.14.4 Noise 2012 <br />All Collection operations shall be conducted as quietly as possible and shall conform to applicable federal, 2013 <br />State, Alameda County, and City noise level regulations. Additional requirements are specified in Section 2014 <br />5.15.2. 2015 <br />5.14.5 Holiday Collection Schedule 2016 <br />During the week of a Holiday, Collection may not occur on the Holiday but shall occur on the day following 2017 <br />the Holiday, except when the Holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday Collection shall occur on the first 2018 <br />Monday following the Holiday. The Contractor shall provide at least a two (2) week advance notice to all 2019 <br />Customers regarding the Holiday week schedule changes. 2020
