The City reserves the 3533 <br />right to perform this review itself or through use of an agent at its expense. 3534 <br />6.15 Provision of Emergency Services 3535 <br />Contractor shall provide emergency services at the City’s request in the event of major accidents, 3536 <br />disruptions, or natural calamities in a manner consistent with the services and procedures identified in its 3537 <br />contingency plan required in accordance with Section 5.19. Emergency services may include, but are not 3538 <br />limited to, assistance handling salvaged materials, Processing, Composting, or Recycling materials, or 3539 <br />Disposing of Solid Waste following a major accident, disruption, or natural calamity. Contractor shall be 3540 <br />capable of providing emergency services within twenty-four (24) hours of notification by the City or as 3541 <br />soon thereafter as is reasonably practical in light of the circumstances. Emergency services, which exceed 3542 <br />the Contractor’s obligations, shall be compensated in accordance with Section 8.4. If Contractor cannot 3543 <br />provide the requested emergency services, the City shall have the right to take possession of the 3544 <br />Contractor’s equipment for the purposes of providing emergency services in accordance with Article 10. 3545 <br />6.16 Assistance to City with Code and Plan Reviews 3546 <br />Contractor shall provide staff and time to assist the City in evaluating and revising its Municipal Code and 3547 <br />Planning and Zoning Code requirements related to Collection of Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and 3548 <br />Organic Materials; space allocation and enclosure requirements for Containers, etc. In addition, 3549 <br />Contractor shall provide staff with the expertise to review building plans for new Residential and 3550 <br />Commercial development projects during the City’s permit review process to verify the reasonableness of 3551 <br />the space allocation and enclosure design for Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials 3552 <br />Containers and the accessibility of such areas. For these plan reviews, the Contractor may be requested 3553 <br />to visit the site and submit written recommendations for improvements to the design. Plan reviews shall 3554 <br />be completed within two (2) weeks of the City’s request for such review. The City anticipates 3555 <br />approximately five (5) to ten (10) reviews may be requested annually. 3556
