Memorandum of Understanding <br />between UC Regents/UC Cooperative Extension Alameda County <br />and Ci Pleasanton (continued) <br />8. Identify and obtain all permits and approvals required by the City of <br />Pleasanton and Alameda County, and any other jurisdiction necessary to plan, <br />develop, operate, and maintain the UCCE Master Gardener Program <br />Educational Garden at the Pleasanton Bernal Farm, including but not limited <br />to design review, building permits, etc. for all physical improvements to the <br />site performed by UCCE MGP. <br />9. Redevelop areas as needed to keep them relevant and aesthetically pleasing. <br />10. Raise funds through on-site activities for the UCCE Master Gardener Program <br />Educational Garden. <br />11. Observe and comply with federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and <br />regulations applicable to the UCCE Master Gardener Program Educational <br />Garden. <br />12. Keep the City of Pleasanton informed of UCCE sponsored events at the <br />UCCE Master Gardener Program Educational Garden; certain events may <br />require pre -approval of the City, and general hours of use for classes and <br />events shall be Sam to dusk. <br />13. Use University of California research based Integrated Pest Management <br />practices within the boundaries of the site(s) designated for the UCCE MGP to <br />ensure reasonable consistency with the City's Integrated Pest Management <br />Program. Program decisions regarding Integrated Pest Management practices, <br />based on research by UC ANR's Integrated Pest Management Statewide <br />Program, will ultimately be made by the UCCE County Director in <br />consultation with advisors within the UC ANR IPM Statewide Program. <br />14. Provide appropriate publicity and information to encourage attendance to <br />MGP events provided on site. Signage displayed/installed at the site by the <br />UCCE MGP is subject to review and approval by the City of Pleasanton. <br />b. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />1. Provide water and electricity connections to the UCCE MGP site, storm <br />drainage, parking and required lighting for parking, and access at the site of <br />the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden. The schedule for construction of <br />these site improvements is at the sole discretion of the City of Pleasanton, and <br />the City is under no obligation to initiate or complete any improvements <br />during the term of this Memorandum of Understanding. The City and the <br />UCCE Master Gardener Program intend to engage in planning for grading and <br />cover crop installation as initial phases at the site, with responsibilities and <br />timing for such to be determined. <br />2. The City shall provide limited trash collection services at the site, but the <br />MGP shall encourage its volunteers and participants to pack out their trash to <br />the extent possible. The MGP shall be responsible for green waste <br />management and removal, for green waste generated by their use. <br />3. The City shall fund, install, and maintain public restroom facilities, accessible <br />to the MGP, as determined by the approved site plan. The schedule for <br />Page 3 of 9 <br />
