3. Pavement Milling and Overlay (Mill/OL): This reconstruction method involves the
removal of the existing asphalt concrete surface layer of the entire street surface
by milling, then applying 1.75 inches of asphalt concrete over the entire street
surface. The milling of the entire street surface is necessary on streets upon
which performing an OL would raise the crown and increase the cross slopes,
particularly along the parking lane, to an unsatisfactory level.
STREET NAME BEGIN LOCATION END LOCATION AREA TREATMENT
STONERIDGE MALL DR STONERIDGE DR GENOMICS PL 61699 MILL/01-
STONERIDGE
ILL/OLSTONERIDGE MALL DR GENOMICS PL WAY T S/O WORKDAY 76140 MILUOL
STONERIDGE MALL DR wAYT N/O WORKDAY CANYON WAY 59400 MILL/OL
STONERIDGE MALL DR CANYON WAY SPRINGDALE AVE 143910 MILL/01-
STONERIDGE
ILL/OLSTONERIDGE MALL DR SPRINGDALE AVE DTRONERIDGE MALL 42336 MILL/OL
LAUREL CREEK WAY STONERIDGE MALL DR FOOTHILL RD 45300 MILUOL
McWILLIAMS PL STONERIDGE MALL DR END 10600 MILL/OL
ADDISON WAY INGLEWOOD DR ALVORD WAY 26500 OL/F
CHAPMAN WAY HOMER WAY INGLEWOOD DR 36075 OUF
PECAN CT MUIRWOOD DR END 11600 OUF
ELMWOOD CIR MUIRWOOD DR MUIRWOOD DR 25868 OUF
GINGER CT MUIRWOOD DR END 10382 OL/F
LAUREL CT MUIRWOOD DR END 14964 OL/F
FERNWOOD CT MUIRWOOD DR END 7618 OUF
ARROWWOOD CT MUIRWOOD DR END 7183 OUF
ASTER CT MUIRWOOD DR END 7056 OL/F
PRARIE DR FOOTHILL KNOLLS DR FOOTHILL KNOLLS DR 56529 OUF
MARSH HAWK CT PRARIE DR END 9039 OUF
SORREL DOWNS CT FOOTHILL KNOLLS DR END 10170 OUF
FOOTHILL KNOLLS DR SORREL DOWNS CT END 43105 OL/F
FOOTHILL KNOLLS DR FOOTHILL RD SORREL DOWNS CT 51985 OUF
INDEPENDENCE DR CT S/O INDEPENDENCE END 53687 OUF
INDEPENDENCE DR CT S/O INDEPENDENCE BERNAL AVE 57508 OUF
LUND RANCH RD INDEPENDENCE DR 150FT E/O RUTLEDGE 24420 OL
PL
VALLEY AVE BERNAL AVE OAK VISTA WAY 81510 OL/F
The column on the right of the table below indicates the treatment method that will be
used on each street section.
As part of this project, a section of Stoneridge Mall Road, between Stoneridge Drive,
Genomics Place, and McWilliam Place, was selected as a pilot test section for a new
asphalt concrete mix design called Superior Performing Asphalt Pavement (Superpave).
Superpave was developed by the Strategic Highway Research Program which was
established by Congress to research and address the premature deterioration of asphalt
pavement. The benefit of Superpave is to prolong the service life of asphalt pavement,
and address the higher loading of heavy trucks. In 2015, the State of California
Department of Transportation officially adopted Superpave to be utilized on state
Page 3 of 5
