Commissioner Nibert reported on the Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Trails Committee meeting and <br /> discussed bicycle collisions. <br /> 7. Actions of the City Council <br /> Ms. Clark provided a brief overview of the items listed in the report. <br /> 8. Future Planning Calendar <br /> Ms. Denis stated there are no future items for the Commission's review to report at this time. <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> Commissioner Nibert mentioned Planning Commission training sessions happening this year. <br /> Commissioner Brown expressed his concerns about the parking on Santa Rita Road and how it <br /> feels unsafe to exit a vehicle when you park there, as it is a very busy street where cars drive <br /> quickly. <br /> Chair Pace asked about the Planning Commission meeting going to a hybrid in-person, online <br /> set-up and Ms. Clark informed him this change would be happening in May. <br /> Commission Brown asked for an update on parklet applications and Ms. Denis answered. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Chair Pace adjourned the meeting at 7:37 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Sachiko Riddle <br /> Recording Secretary <br /> Planning Commission Minutes Page 4 of 4 April 27, 2022 <br />icant earlier in the day and he agreed to a condition for <br /> façade modifications to the north and south elevations of building one. <br /> Commissioner Allen moved to approve Item 4 with the added condition of approval to <br /> add architectural detail to the north and south elevations. <br /> Commissioner Nibert seconded the motion. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE: <br /> AYES: Commissioners Allen, Brown, Gaidos, Nibert, and Pace <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> 5. Public Comment from the audience regarding items not listed on the agenda — <br /> Speakers are encouraged to limit comments to 3 minutes. <br /> There were no speaker cards submitted. <br /> MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION/INFORMATION <br /> 6. Reports from Meetings Attended (e.g., Committee, Task Force, etc.) <br /> Planning Commission Minutes Page 3 of 4 April 27, 2022 <br />but moved to public <br /> hearing, to be shared with the Commission to help them envision Commissioner Allen's request. <br /> Commissioner Allen said her top priority was the south elevation, on the right side. The visuals <br /> on the front are very nice but, on the right, only one window can be seen, and because it is so <br /> close to the street, she would like to see more articulation, perhaps another window or some <br /> design elements. On the north elevation, on the left side where the stairway is, there could be <br /> Planning Commission Minutes Page 2 of 4 April 27, 2022 <br /> the applicant will be given the opportunity to respond to issues raised by the public. The <br /> response should be limited to five minutes. <br /> The public hearing will then be closed. The Planning Commissioners then discuss among themselves the application under <br /> consideration and act on the item. Planning Commission actions may be appealed to the City Council. Appeals must be filed <br /> with the City Clerk's Office within 15 days of the Planning Commission's action. <br /> The Planning Commission Chair may enforce other rules as may further the fair and efficient running of the meeting, such as <br /> reducing the amount of testimony time allotted to the applicant and all those who wish to speak when the meeting agenda is <br /> lengthy or when there are numerous speakers for any specific item. The audience is requested to respect and extend courtesy <br /> to all those wishing to testify on all cases by being quiet while others are speaking. <br />
