IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO o 426 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE CREATING A RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION, <br /> AND DEFINING ITS ORGANIZATION, POWERS AND DUTIES <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY <br /> ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION° <br />a) There is hereby created a Recreation and Park <br />Commission consisting of five members, both men and women. The <br />Recreation and Park Commission members shall be appointed by the <br />City Council° <br /> <br /> b) Members of the Commission shall be qualified <br />electors and serve without compensation for a period of three <br />years° The first Commission to be appointed shall at its first <br />meeting so classify its members by lot that two shall serve for <br />one year; .two shall serve for two years; and one shall serve for <br />three years° At the expiration of each of the terms so provided <br />for, a successor shall be appointed by the City Council for a <br />term of three years° <br /> <br /> c) ~nen a vacancy occurs in said Commission, appoint- <br />ment shall be made to fill the unexpired term° <br /> <br />SECTION 2. ORGANIZATION OF THE COMMISSION <br />a) Within thirty days after appointment, members of <br />the Commission shall meet in regular session and elect a Chairman <br />and a Vice-Chairman° Their duties shall respectively be such as <br />are usually carried by such officers° Officers shall hold office <br />for one year, or until their successors are elected° <br /> <br /> b) The Director of Recreation shall act as Secretary <br />to the Commis s ion o <br /> <br /> SECTION 3° MEETINGS. <br /> <br />a) Regular meetings shall be held at least monthly <br />with time, place and date set by resolution of the Commission. <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
