Ordinance No. 2237 <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br /> to time, and designated areas of the Counties of Alameda and Contra Costa as described in the <br /> Management District Plan. <br /> 5.36.050 Assessments <br /> All lodging businesses available for public occupancy within the boundaries of the district <br /> shall be subject to an assessment based upon $3.25 per paid occupied room per night, with a <br /> possible increase in the assessment beginning in year three of up to a maximum of $4.00 per <br /> paid occupied room per night. Stays of 30 consecutive days or more or stays by any Federal or <br /> State of California officer or employee when on official business who makes a claim that they are <br /> exempt or stays by any officer or employee of a foreign government who is exempt by reason of <br /> express provision of federal law or international treaty shall not be assessed. <br /> 5.36.080 Assessments <br /> Each city and county shall be responsible for collecting the assessments from the lodging <br /> businesses subject to the assessment within that city. The assessments collected shall be <br /> transmitted to the city of Pleasanton which shall administer the funds collected. In Pleasanton the <br /> assessments provided by this chapter shall be collected at the time and in the manner and with <br /> the same penalties as is provided in this code for the collection of transient occupancy taxes. <br /> SECTION 2. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) <br /> days after its adoption in The Valley Times, a newspaper of general circulation published in the <br /> City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City <br /> Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> SECTION 3.
