ORDINANCE NO. 2237 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING CHAPTER 5.36 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> RENEWING THE TRI-VALLEY TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT <br /> DISTRICT <br /> WHEREAS, in 2005 the Cities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin and San Ramon <br /> supported the establishment of the Tri-Valley Tourism Business Improvement District to provide <br /> services tailored to the lodging businesses, including tourism promotion programs specifically <br /> targeted to increase tourism promotion within the Cities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin and San <br /> Ramon, and the Pleasanton City Council established the Tri-Valley Tourism Business <br /> Improvement District for a term of five years; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Tri-Valley Tourism Business Improvement District has been managed <br /> successfully since its establishment, renewed for 5 years in 2010, and renewed for seven years <br /> in 2015 as the Tri-Valley Tourism Marketing District to include the Cities of Dublin, Livermore and <br /> Pleasanton, the Town of Danville, and designated areas of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. <br /> Visit Tri-Valley, the Tri-Valley Tourism Marketing District's owners' association, previously known <br /> as the Tri-Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau, has requested to renew the District; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 18, 2022, the Pleasanton City Council adopted Resolution 22- <br /> 1267, a Resolution to Renew the Tri-Valley Tourism Marketing District. Thereafter, the Cities of <br /> Livermore and Dublin, the Town of Danville, and the Counties of Alameda and Contra Costa <br /> consented to the City of Pleasanton renewing the Tri-Valley Tourism Marketing District that would <br /> include the corporate limits of all four municipalities and designated areas of Alameda and Contra <br /> Costas Counties as described in the Management District Plan. On March 15, 2022, and April 19, <br /> 2022, the City Council conducted public hearings to consider the renewal of the Tri-Valley Tourism <br /> Marketing District and to hear any protest to its renewal; petitions representing majority support <br /> for renewal of the district were received; and <br /> WHEREAS, on April 19, 2022, the Pleasanton City Council adopted Resolution No. 22- <br /> 1287, Declaring Results of Majority Protest Proceedings and Renewing the Tri-Valley Tourism <br /> Marketing District, fulfilling the necessary procedural requirements to renew the district. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The below specified sections of Chapter 5.36 of the Pleasanton Municipal <br /> Code are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 5.36.010 Established <br /> There is established in the Cities of Pleasanton, Dublin, and Livermore, the Town of <br /> Danville. and the Counties of Alameda and Contra Costa the Tri-Valley Tourism Marketing District <br /> ("the district"), under the provisions of the Property and Business Improvement District Law of <br /> 1994, as set forth in the Streets and Highways Code of the state, Section 36600 et seq. <br /> 5.36.020 Boundaries <br /> The boundaries of the district shall be the corporate limits of the Cities of Pleasanton; <br /> Dublin and Livermore, and the Town of Danville, as such corporate limits are amended from time <br />
