LANDSCAPING: Proposed landscaping shall be shown on the site plan and reviewed and <br /> approved by the City Landscape Architect prior to building permit issuance. Additional <br /> landscaping materials or modifications may be required by the Landscape Architecture Division at <br /> final inspection to ensure adequate planting coverage and/or screening. The clarity of the <br /> landscape plans submitted for the planning submittal will need to be significantly improved and <br /> more detail will be necessary, including providing planting and irrigation notes and details. <br /> Minimum plant sizes are 1-gallon containers for ground cover, 5-gallon containers for shrubs, and <br /> 15-gallon containers for trees. Plant species shall be of a drought-tolerant nature and the <br /> irrigation design shall utilize low-volume drip, bubbler, or other water conserving irrigation <br /> systems to the maximum extent possible. The drawings shall be subject to the review and <br /> approval of the City Landscape Architect prior to building permit issuance. Project specific <br /> condition. <br /> 54. WATER EFFICIENT LANDSCAPE ORDINANCE (WELD): The project shall comply with the City <br /> of Pleasanton's Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (WELO) and Bay Friendly Basics <br /> Landscape Checklist. As shown, it appears that the project may have less than 500 square feet of <br /> landscaped area, but there is no calculation to confirm this. The proposed vegetable beds would <br /> need to be included in the landscaped area calculation. Refer to the ordinance for requirements <br /> for landscapes greater or less than 500 square feet. Project specific condition. <br /> 55. CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION: Assuming WELO applies to this project, upon completion of <br /> construction and prior to final inspection by the Building and Safety Division, the applicant's <br /> landscape designer shall submit a Certificate of Completion Package in PDF format to the <br /> Landscape Architecture Division for review and approval. The Certificate of Completion Package <br /> shall include: <br /> a. Project information sheet; <br /> b. Certificate of installation according to the landscape documentation package; <br /> c. Irrigation scheduling; <br /> d. Schedule of irrigation, landscape and irrigation maintenance; and <br /> e. Landscape irrigation audit report; and f. Soil management report (if not previously <br /> submitted). Project specific condition. <br /> 56. LANDSCAPING INSTALLATION: Prior to building permit final all landscaping shall be installed as <br /> shown on the approved building permit set and shall be inspected and approved by the <br /> Landscape Architecture Division. <br /> 57. EROSION CONTROL: For purposes of erosion control, the applicant shall plant a hydro seed <br /> mixture designed by the applicant's landscape architect and approved by the Landscape <br /> Architecture Division prior to installation. The erosion control shall be maintained by the applicant <br /> until permanent landscaping is in place. <br /> 58. BACKFLOW AND IRRIGATION METER SCREENING: All backflow prevention devices shall be <br /> located and screened to minimize their visual impacts.
