11 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> SP <br /> - - , CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON® <br /> April 19, 2022 <br /> Fire <br /> TITLE: RECEIVE ANY PROTESTS AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE <br /> 2022 WEED ABATEMENT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE <br /> ABATEMENT OF WEEDS, RUBBISH, DIRT, OR REFUSE UPON OR IN <br /> FRONT OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On March 15, 2022 as part of the 2022 Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD) <br /> Weed Abatement Program, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 22-1282 declaring <br /> that weeds, dirt, rubbish and refuse on specified properties constituted a public <br /> nuisance, ordering the abatement thereof, and setting a public hearing to hear <br /> objections to the proposed abatement. The purpose of this public hearing is for the City <br /> Council to hear and consider objections, and order that the weeds be abated by a <br /> contractor. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Receive any protests and adopt the attached resolution approving the 2022 Weed <br /> Abatement Program and authorizing the abatement of weeds, rubbish, dirt, or refuse <br /> upon or in front of certain described properties within the city of Pleasanton. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Property owners are invoiced for all work performed in addition to a 100 percent <br /> administrative charge. If related litigation is required, property owners are also <br /> responsible for attorneys' fees, expenses, and costs. Unpaid amounts become a special <br /> assessment on the property owner's tax bill. All costs involved with the Weed <br /> Abatement Program are budgeted in professional services account. <br />
