Cities of Dublin and Pleasanton | Disaster Debris Management Plan | 2022 <br />23 <br /> <br />based on contract requirements, and initiate debris removal documentation using load <br />tickets <br /> Conduct disposal monitoring to document the disposal of disaster debris at approved <br />TDMSs and at final disposal or end-use locations <br /> <br />2.2.8 Nonprofit Sector <br />The Cities will partner with nonprofit and volunteer organizations to provide assistance to individuals <br />with disabilities and/or access and functional needs. The Cities will ask that nonprofit sector entities <br />coordinate with the Cities to ensure their efforts are conducted in coordination with the Cities <br />objectives. <br /> <br />In addition, each City will coordinate with nonprofit sector entities to ensure response efforts are <br />conducted in a safe manner to minimize the risk of injuries in keeping with the Health and Safety <br />Policy (see Attachment F). These entities will not be asked to conduct tasks that are beyond their <br />member’s training or capabilities. The roles and responsibilities for nonprofit organizations in debris <br />operations are listed below. <br /> <br /> Coordinate with the City to identify vulnerable populations. Preferably, this would be <br />conducted prior to a disaster as part of the City’s preparedness initiatives. <br /> Coordinate with jurisdictions and volunteer organizations post-disaster to assist <br />individuals with disabilities and access and functional needs with bringing debris to the <br />public right-of-way (ROW) <br /> Coordinate with jurisdictions to provide public information regarding debris operations to <br />populations with communication barriers <br /> Provide other services to underserved groups, individuals, and communities as <br />necessary <br /> <br />2.2.9 Residents <br />To coordinate effective debris operations, residents play an important role in maximizing the <br />potential for recycling and reuse of disaster-generated debris. The following provides the roles and <br />responsibilities for residents in debris operations. <br /> <br /> Follow instructions from local officials on set out procedures for disaster-related debris. <br /> Segregate disaster debris from regular household waste <br /> Safely bring debris to the public ROW <br /> Bring household hazardous waste (HHW) to citizen drop-off locations <br /> Use caution when operating equipment and dangerous machinery <br /> Help others who may need assistance with debris removal <br />
