This is a
neighborhood park that cannot safely support a field of this size. Cricket balls flying
towards the street and sidewalks is unsafe in all regards. This park was not made to
withstand a field of this size noir can the street withstand the parking.
Seeing the local youth sports team use the park for games and practices is the
purpose of this park. Not to have hard balls hit with bats that can sore as far as the
sidewalk to where the court is located is not acceptable and it is hard to fathom our
city council would entertain such an idea, unless $$$$ is involved. Are we going to go
down the same rabbit hole as Costco???
The parking along Muirwood on the weekends and during the week has picked up a
great deal since COVID with people wanting to enjoy the open space while social
distancing. Keep our open spaces, open spaces for all of us to use and not make our
parks look like prison yards with cheap chain link fencing around them. This
cheapens our neighborhoods and limits access to our parks which is what we all love
about Pleasanton.
This field can easily be placed on other land that has the space for a field, parking
