EASTERN AREA WESTERN AREA
• Doolan Canyon Area • Pleasanton Ridge
• Springtown Alkali Sink • Arroyo Mocho
• Tesla/Corral Hollow • Dublin Hills
• Cedar Mountain
• Brushy Peak
• Altamont Pass Wildlife Corridors
The Settlement Agreement requires the priority lists of properties for future acquisition
be based on the criteria in Subsection 7.4.2:
1. Properties with significant value for preservation of native biological diversity
and/or wildlife; and
2. Properties having significant value for visual character and/or non-motorized
recreation.
Additional criteria developed and utilized by the Open Space Committee include
strategic value in land protection, additional funding sources, and willing sellers.
UC Berkeley is working towards completing a database and maps of ranked parcels
based on conservation values, ecological indicators, input from local open space
organizations, and factors such as potential of development pressure or other land
conversion. This information will be used to further identify open space areas in need of
protection, and to make plans for acquisition as intended by the Settlement Agreement.
Once the work is complete, the priority list will be redefined, reviewed by the Committee,
and returned to governing bodies for action at a future date.
mitt •y: Approved by:
/.........)„._
Ellen Clark Brian Dolan
Director of Community Development Interim City Manager
Attachment:
1.
