5 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASANTONI <br /> March 1, 2022 <br /> Community Development <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LIST OF GENERAL PRIORITY <br /> AREAS FOR FUTURE ACQUISITION RELATED TO STRATEGIC <br /> PLANNING AND CONSERVATION EVALUATION CONSISTENT WITH <br /> THE ALTAMONT LANDFILL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On January 21, 2022, the Altamont Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility Open <br /> Space Advisory Committee (Open Space Committee) voted to continue using the <br /> existing priority list, with the understanding the list will be refined when the Committee's <br /> consultants, researchers from the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), <br /> complete identifying, ranking, and mapping high conservation values'. The list indicates <br /> the priority areas for future acquisition in accordance with the Altamont Landfill <br /> Settlement Agreement. Approval of the priority list by the Cities of Livermore and <br /> Pleasanton and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors is required. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt the attached Resolution accepting the Open Space Committee's <br /> recommendation to accept the list of general priority areas for future acquisition in <br /> anticipation of the preparation of a more refined list in accordance with the Altamont <br /> Landfill Settlement Agreement. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no cost to the City of Pleasanton associated with this action. Altamont Open <br /> Space funds will continue to cover UC Berkley's costs. <br /> 1 Those biological, ecological, social, or cultural values of outstanding significance are known as high <br /> conservation values, or HCVs. <br />
