3 <br />THE CITY OF <br />% <br />"',a, CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PLEASANTON. <br />February 15, 2022 <br />Community Development <br />Planning Division <br />TITLE: REVIEW AND ADOPT THE FINAL CLIMATE ACTION PLAN 2.0 AND <br />INITIAL STUDY NEGATIVE DECLARATION <br />SUMMARY <br />The City's draft Climate Action Plan (CAP 2.0) and draft Initial Study- Negative <br />Declaration (IS -ND) were in circulation for public review and comment from November <br />19 through December 21, 2021. On December 15, 2021, the Committee on Energy and <br />the Environment (Committee) reviewed the draft documents and on December 21, <br />2021, the City Council reviewed the documents. Staff has reviewed and implemented <br />feedback from the Committee and Council and input received through the public <br />comment period as appropriate. Staff presents the final CAP 2.0 and IS -ND for <br />consideration by the City Council. After almost two years of work, the Committee has <br />recommended CAP 2.0 approval and the City Council is requested to consider adoption <br />of the plan. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff requests the City Council review the final CAP 2.0 and IS -ND. Staff recommends <br />the City Council: <br />1. Adopt a resolution adopting the Initial Study -Negative Declaration for the CAP <br />2.0 <br />2. Adopt a resolution approving and adopting the CAP 2.0 <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Adoption of the CAP 2.0 will result in direct and indirect financial costs to the City. The <br />CAP 2.0 range of primary actions results in estimated annual costs to the City of <br />approximately $273,000, and annual cost savings to the community of approximately <br />$585,000. <br />
