FOR THE LIVERMORE PLEASANTON FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE TRAINING TOWER REPAIRS PROJECT, CIP NO. 21458 SUMMARY The project consisted of structural repairs and replacement of protective fire tiles to resume live-fire training at the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department's fire training tower. The project also included additional concrete repairs to complete recommended maintenance of the building to extend its useful life. City Council awarded the $519,120 contract, including a bid additive, to Ashron Construction and Restoration, Inc., on September 7, 2021. Construction of the project is now complete, and staff recommends City Council acceptance of the work. RECOMMENDATION 1 . Accept the project as complete and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion. 2. Authorize release of the retention in the amount of $29,062.13 to Ashron Construction and Restoration, Inc. 30 days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. 3. Authorize the return of the project's unused balance of $16,256 to the General Fund — Capital Improvement Program Reserve (CIPR). FINANCIAL STATEMENT Funding for this project totaled $650,000 as outlined in Attachment 1. The expenditures total $633,744, leaving an unused balance of $16,256. Staff recommends the transfer of the remaining balance to the General Fund — Capital Improvement Program Reserve (CIPR). The cost of the repairs will be shared between the City of Pleasanton and the City of Livermore, the extent to which has not yet been determined. The City of Pleasanton advanced the funding and, now that the project is complete, will seek reimbursement from the City of Livermore.
