From:
To: n r Ha
Cc:
Subject: Potential recnning of Mission and Valley Shopping Centers
Date: Friday, November 19, 20219:32:21 AM
Jennifer, please share the below opposition letter from the Board of Directors of Danbury Park with the Planning Commission, the City Council
the Housing Commission and please place it in the record for the upcoming December 1 public meeting.
We, the members of the Board of Directors of Danbury Parkin Pleasanton would like to express our opposition to the potential rezoning of the
Valley and Mission Shopping Centers located near the intersection of Valley and Santa Rita Rd. Danbury Park is a single-family complex of
204 units located across the street to the east of these centers, Besides Danbury Park, there are numerous other single family and apartment
complexes located near these centers.
These two shopping centers provide many valuable, essential and convenient services to the thousands of residents near them. They provide
such services as: grocery stores, hardware store, laundry, insurance agent, donut shop, spa, shoe repair, dentist office, veterinary service, UPS
store, credit union, thrift store, auto shop, printing, tutoring, office building, hair and nails, sports store, restaurants, cafe, fast food, thrift shop
and vitamin shop_ These services and the residents to whom they serve make up a cohesive community. In addition, the services are a walkable
distance away from the nearby residents, many of whom are senior citizens. These services also comprise the livelihood of numerous small
business owners, many of which have operated in these locations for decades.
New high density properties should be located more near BART or on the periphery of the city or in locations that do not replace current
necessary and convenient retail locations. In addition more high density properties should not be located near one of the busiest and congested
intersections in Pleasanton.
Sincerely,
Sue Vigars
Robert Gone]la
Ellen Holt
Tim Petro
LaVonne Youel
Members of the Board of Directors of Danbury Park
Click
hltrxs:llwu-a.mai1rnmrn1 coralGrin-i,R7tx;oCR5.igX'POPOmr[]rTWOOPRv74Fh3i57J4TZ 43GcpmosCaucKo3ul4wndvCh_-eiw9gi7fL3,,-mlb4lr.-
ti= to report this email as spam
