Some are good, some are not good.
The Housing Site map has some acceptable sites, and some are not
acceptable:
The "site" at Stanford ValleyCare is a concern. With added residents, we
will need more doctors, nurses, facilities, etc. That land needs to stay as
is to allow for growth. Local health care is vital to our city, particularly
if you want to serve our community.
The other "sites" I have great concern with are Valley Plaza and Mission
Plaza. The old motel could be used, but to take away community services
to Pleasanton is a bad idea. There are too many necessary and available
services at those locations. You would be doing a dis-service to those of us
who live here NOW and who pay high property taxes.
I would like to mention a lot on Harrison and Old Bernal (corner) that
was/is being considered for a 5 story apt. house with different levels of
rent. Putting a 5 story bldg. on that corner makes no sense, and why
does it have to be 5 stories? It would dwarf the home next to it on Harrison
and Old Bernal. It is out of sync with Harrison, and it would infringe
on the privacy of the small home next to it on Harrison.
My comments are sent with a great concern about Pleasanton. It is a
destination site for many, our restaurants draw people here, etc. Please
let it stay a wonderful place to raise a family and to feel secure. Many
"advances" have increased our crime rate, i.e., Bart. It has increased the
need for more police protection at the Mall and in town. We need to keep our City
safe to draw families here.
Thank you for taking the time to read my email
Marcia
Click here to report this email as spam.
