Attachment 2 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO RENEW THE TRI-VALLEY TOURISM <br /> MARKETING DISTRICT (TVTMD) AND FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF A <br /> PUBLIC MEETING AND A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON AND GIVING NOTICE <br /> THEREOF <br /> WHEREAS, the TVTMD was created in 2006, and subsequently renewed <br /> in 2010 for a five (5) year term and again in 2015 for a seven (7) year term; and <br /> WHEREAS, the current term of the TVTMD ends on June 30, 2022; and <br /> WHEREAS, Visit Tri-Valley (VTV), is interested in renewing the Tri-Valley <br /> Tourism Marketing District (TVTMD) and levying an assessment on certain lodging <br /> businesses within the proposed renewed TVTMD, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Property and Business Improvement Law of 1994, Streets <br /> and Highways Code § 36600 et seq., authorizes cities to establish property and <br /> business improvement districts for the purpose of promoting tourism, and <br /> WHEREAS, the cities of Dublin and Livermore, town of Danville, and Contra <br /> Costa County, will be asked to consent to the Pleasanton City Council renewing <br /> the TVTMD, and <br /> WHEREAS, Visit Tri-Valley has drafted a Management District Plan which <br /> sets forth the proposed boundary of the TVTMD, a service plan and budget, and a <br /> proposed means of governance; and <br /> WHEREAS, businesses who will pay more than fifty percent (50%) of the <br /> assessment under the TVTMD have petitioned the City Council to renew the <br /> TVTMD. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby <br /> resolve, determine, and find as follows: <br /> Section 1 . The recitals set forth herein are true and correct. <br /> Section 2. The City Council finds that the lodging businesses that will pay <br /> more than 50% of the assessment proposed in the Management District Plan <br /> attached as Exhibit A, have signed and submitted petitions in support of the <br /> renewal of the TVTMD. The City Council accepts the petitions and adopts this <br /> Resolution of Intention to renew the TVTMD and to levy an assessment on certain <br /> businesses within the TVTMD boundaries in accordance with the Property and <br /> Business Improvement District Law of 1994. <br />
