THE CITY OF 1 4 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> iii.iii slw _" <br /> PLEASANTON <br /> December 21, 2021 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE AND OUTFITTING OF FIVE POLICE <br /> PATROL VEHICLES IN THE AMOUNT OF $351,557 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Police Department's patrol fleet consists of 27 patrol units. The pursuit-rated Ford <br /> Utility Interceptor provides safety benefits, comfort, and functionality that is sometimes <br /> limited in other patrol vehicle types. As part of the Repair and Replacement Plan, three <br /> patrol units are scheduled to be replaced in FY 2021/22. In addition, two Police Utility <br /> Interceptors units were damaged beyond repair during separate accidents and will need <br /> to be replaced. Staff has submitted a claim with the City's insurance pool for the <br /> replacement of the two damaged units. <br /> Staff is seeking approval to purchase five Ford Utility Interceptors from Folsom Lake <br /> Ford and to have the units outfitted by Lehr. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . Authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase order with Folsom Lake Ford <br /> for five Ford Police Utility Interceptors in the amount of $252,716.18, which <br /> includes a 15 percent contingency. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase order with Lehr for the <br /> outfitting of five patrol vehicles in the amount of $98,840.09, which includes a 15 <br /> percent contingency. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The cost to purchase the five Ford Police Utility Interceptors and outfitting is <br /> $305,701.10. Staff is requesting a 15 percent contingency in the amount of $45,855.16 <br /> for any unforeseen costs associated with the replacement and outfitting for a total pur- <br /> chase amount of $351,557. There is adequate funding in the Police Vehicle Replace- <br /> ment fund (511-22110-410107) for the purchase and outfitting of the five police patrol <br /> vehicles. <br />
