Terra Landscape currently works with the City's Parks Division and Engineering Department on several landscape projects. Parks staff provided the selection committee with a positive recommendation on their quality of service. Terra Landscape has expertise and experience in Pleasanton with the tasks outlined in their scope of work for this project. Terra Landscape provides over $1,800 in annual cost-savings for these services as well as landscaping and irrigation expertise which was lacking from other vendors. If approved, Terra Landscape will provide grounds maintenance at the PPC through June 31 , 2023. Terra Landscape is currently on a fiscal year contract (July 1 – June 30) with the other City contracts, so the one-and-a-half year contract would allow for the contracts to be on the same cycle. Terra Landscape's contract includes a significant amount (almost 50%) of as-needed extra work, that will only be used in special circumstances which are not anticipated to occur on regular occurrences. Details of the Scope of Work and Fee Schedule can be seen in Exhibits A and B of Attachment 1 . CONCLUSION The Pleasanton Pioneer Cemetery is a place of history and remembrance. It is a place where our community may gather to share in times of grief and to also celebrate and honor the lives of those buried there. Staff will continue to work diligently to ensure the highest standard of service is maintained at the PPC and continue to examine ways to make it a more fiscally responsible enterprise fund. Dividing the grounds maintenance contract between two specialized companies—one who can focus on grave digging and gravesite maintenance, and the other who can focus on more detailed landscaping and irrigation needs is a step in this direction.
