BACKGROUND
Harvey Electric performs as -needed electrical services for the City and was selected
through a competitive bid process in FY 2019/20 for a three-year as -needed agreement
in the amount of $500,000. This past year, there were several unanticipated repairs
including major electrical rewiring of the pathway lighting at the Ken Mercer Sports Park
and repair and replacement of the electrical in the basement of the Amador Theater due
to water damage caused by a burst pipe.
DISCUSSION
Typical as needed electrical repairs are minor in nature. However, the aforementioned
unanticipated repairs requires that the budget for the agreement with Harvey Electric to
be increased to allow for future as -needed repairs and project work. This future works
includes the installation of additional electrical power at the Veterans Memorial Building
to install a projector and Information Technology Department's project in the main
server room in 123 Main Street. Therefore, staff is requesting that the agreement with
Harvey Electric be increased to a not -to -exceed amount of $700,000 for the term of the
agreement. This increase will ensure adequate funding to complete current projects and
any potential electrical repairs for the term of the agreement.
Submitted by:
Kathleen Yurchak
Director of Operations and
Water Utilities
Fisca Review: Approve by:
I kk//
Tina Olson Nelson Fialho
Director of Finance City Manager
Attachments:
1.
