THE CITY OF <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> _pLEASANTON, MEETING MINUTES <br /> APPROVED <br /> Wednesday, September 22, 2021 <br /> This meeting was conducted via teleconference in accordance with Governor Newsom's Executive <br /> Orders N-20-20 and N-35-20 and COVID-19 pandemic protocols. <br /> CALL TO ORDER, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, AND ROLL CALL <br /> The teleconference meeting of the Planning Commission of September 22, 2021 was called to <br /> order at 7:03 p.m. by Chair Brown. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Gaidos. <br /> Staff Members Present: Shweta Bonn, Senior Planner; Ellen Clark, Director of Community <br /> Development; Melinda Denis, Planning and Permit Center <br /> Manager; Jennifer Hagen, Associate Planner; Julie Harryman, <br /> Assistant City Attorney; Stefanie Ananthan, Recording Secretary <br /> Commissioners Present: Commissioners Nancy Allen, Matt Gaidos, Ken Morgan, Jeff Nibert, <br /> and Chair Justin Brown <br /> Commissioners Absent: Commissioner Pace <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> There were no agenda amendments. <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR - Consent Calendar items are considered routine and will be enacted by one <br /> motion unless a request for removal for discussion or explanation is received from the Planning <br /> Commission or a member of the public by submitting a speaker card for that item. <br /> 1. Actions of the Zoning Administrator <br /> Commissioner Allen inquired about PUD-108-02 regarding the Pacific Pearl shopping center <br /> and the indication that uses were being modified. Associate Planner Jennifer Hagen explained <br /> the four areas of modification including: 1) restaurant use originally limited to 55,000 square <br /> feet, increased to 65,000 square feet, to allow an additional one to two restaurants; 2) beauty <br /> salons and personal service uses originally limited to 7,000 square feet, increased to 10,000 <br /> square feet; 3) medical use originally limited to 7,000 square feet, increased to 10,000 square <br /> feet; and 4) a previous limit of 5,000 square feet included martial arts/karate studios, fitness <br /> studios, and tutoring facilities within a single category; however, there was currently a single <br /> Planning Commission Minutes Page 1 of 10 September 22, 2021 <br />
