Section 16. Retirement <br />The City of Pleasanton provides employees defined as "Classic" members by CalPERS <br />with the PERS 2.7% at 55 retirement formula, including the following options: "Credit <br />for Unused Sick Leave", "1959 Survivors Third Level", "One Year Final Compensation <br />Option" and "Military Service Credit" option. <br />For employees hired on or after January 1, 2013, and defined as "New" members by <br />CalPERS, the City shall provide the retirement formulas as determined by CalPERS <br />under the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act (PEPRA). The current formula is 2% <br />at age 62 or older. <br />For all "Classic" members as defined by CalPERS, the employee shall pay the full 8% <br />member contribution rate. <br />For all "New" members as defined by CalPERS, the employee shall pay a member <br />contribution rate as determined by CalPERS under the Public Employees' Pension <br />Reform Act (PEPRA). <br />Section 17. Uniforms <br />The City shall provide all necessary safety and protective clothing, as defined by the City <br />Manager upon the recommendation of the Department Head. The City shall provide fifty <br />percent (50%) of the initial purchase price of uniforms for those Police and Fire <br />Department employees required to wear a prescribed uniform. <br />17.1 City Provided Uniforms <br />The City shall provide uniforms to certain classifications as set forth in the "Employee <br />Uniform Program Policy". <br />17.2 Uniform Allowance <br />The annual uniform allowance for Senior Animal Services Officer, Animal Services <br />Officer and Community Services Officer shall be $800 per year, paid on a bi-weekly <br />basis. <br />The annual uniform allowance for Property and Evidence Technician, Police Dispatcher, <br />Police Dispatch Supervisor and fire administrative staff shall be $500 per year, paid on a <br />bi-weekly basis. <br />-28- <br />
