He confirmed no aircraft modifications will need to be <br /> made to use the unleaded fuel and the biggest concern from the aviation industry is the cost of the fuel. <br /> Mayor Brown opened public comment. <br /> Phani Nagaraj commented the airport is a public interest facility but serves a select few and the <br /> approval of KaiserAir FBO was done with zero transparency during the peak of the pandemic. He <br /> reported once the FBO is built there is no limit on how many flights or at what time they can fly. He <br /> advised there are routinely 30 to 50 curfew violations each month. He noted CNEL is going to be critical <br /> and expressed concern for Pleasanton's future and encouraged City Council to act before it is too late. <br /> Vishal Soni commented the Livermore Airport is intentionally making matters non-transparent and the <br /> KaiserAir FBO approval and extension was done without community involvement, an EIR, and noise <br /> study. He stated there is no intent to limit flying over residential neighborhoods, comply with curfew, <br /> and address noise complaints. He believes the airport does not have residential communities' best <br /> interests at heart and requests Pleasanton help by conducting a regular meeting with community <br /> involvement. <br /> Jon Krueger, a 21 year resident, commented he has noticed an increase in airplane noise over recent <br /> years and it is not just late-night noise. He advised the City is not limited to appeals to the FAA. He <br /> advised pilots and the airport are getting off the hook for the noise and noted if anyone calls to report <br /> noise problems it goes nowhere so there needs to be accountability. He would like to preserve the <br /> quality of life for all Pleasanton residents. He recommended the Livermore-Pleasanton Liaison <br /> Committee meet every six months. <br /> Richard Cortes, an 18 year resident, commented he lives in one of those purple areas on the map <br /> displayed. He asked the City to take a more active role in advocating for citizens impacted by this <br /> project and encouraged resurrecting the Livermore-Pleasanton Liaison Committee. He expressed <br /> concern that Livermore has not responded to the request for individual noise data. He referenced the <br /> Livermore City Council resolution that states that airport expansion shall only occur in response to <br /> existing aviation demand. <br /> Nanda Kishore Rapeti commented his main concerns are noise levels and curfew violations. He <br /> advised small plane traffic and noise level from the Livermore Airport has increased in the past six <br /> months and he hears aircraft at all hours of the night. He expressed concern that the flight paths are <br /> over residential areas. He advised complaints to Livermore Airport go unanswered. He believes airport <br /> expansion will add problems and encouraged community input and more accountability from the airport. <br /> Kamal Aggarwal encouraged obtaining the data of the average number of flights out of Livermore <br /> Airport versus the ones that flew in during the measurement period. He advised Single Event Noise <br /> Exposure is more important than CNEL and studies show they are more detrimental to health. He <br /> advised there is no tangible action from complaints received by the Livermore Airport and no incentive <br /> for pilots to improve. He encouraged stressing the importance of using unleaded fuel. <br /> Pavan Manjunath commented he recently moved to Pleasanton and immediately noticed the small <br /> plane noise. He reviewed the data from the Phase 1 study and noted the average does not give an <br /> accurate picture. He advised even if the single event noise level is below the standards it is still <br /> annoying and believes the expansion will add to it. He urged the City Council to pursue the issue with <br /> the City of Livermore. <br /> Robin Little, resident, commented approximately five years ago more corporate jets began flying in and <br /> the noise level has gone up. He advised he was told by Brett Gregory at the Livermore Airport that San <br /> Jose Airport has flight restrictions because it was grandfathered in and inquired if that can be done at <br /> the Livermore Airport.
