G. Crew Leader: Crew Foreman shall have two(2)continuous years of on-the-job <br /> experience performing pest management and fertilizing, as well as general shrub, <br /> tree, and groundcover trimming activities. <br /> If the Contractor elects to move or change the site Crew Leader, prior approval <br /> must be obtained by the Parks Superintendent. <br /> H. Irrigation Technician: Irrigation Technician shall have at least one(1)continuous <br /> year of on-the-job experience performing sprinkler and valve repairs as well as <br /> irrigation controller programming. <br /> I. Pesticide Technician: Pesticide Technician shall possess a current State Certified <br /> Applicator's license. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Main Street Planter Bowls and Trash Receptacle Lids <br /> (These Special Provisions are to be used in conjunction with <br /> the City Standard Specifications and Standard Details) <br /> SECTION 1. DESCRIPTION OF WORK,GENERAL <br /> In general, the work to be performed consists of maintaining healthy,attractive ornamental <br /> plantings in sixty-four concrete planter-bowls along Pleasanton's Main Street. The work shall <br /> also include the cleaning of thirty-one litter receptacle lids on Main Street. <br /> All plantings shall be inspected and approved by the City Parks Superintendent prior to <br /> planting. Planting operations shall conform to the specifications and details contained herein. <br /> The Contractor shall bear the risk of damage to the work by the elements or from any other <br /> cause,whether arising from the execution or non-execution of the work. The Contractor shall <br /> repair all damaged work at Contractor's expense. If the Contractor fails to remove from the <br /> vicinity of the completed work all plant debris, rubbish, unused material, or equipment, <br /> belonging to them or used under their direction during maintenance,the same may be <br /> removed at the expense of the Contractor, and the Contractor and his sureties shall be liable <br /> for the cost of removal. <br /> SECTION 2. MATERIALS <br /> Except as provided in this section, all materials required to complete the work under this <br /> contract shall be furnished by the Contractor. <br /> Plants which die or are destroyed as a result of the Contractor's operations or negligence shall <br /> be replaced at their cost, within 48 hours. <br /> Replacement soil shall be one part sandy loam (submit sample and analysis from approved <br /> testing laboratory), one part builder's sand, and one part nitrogen-stabilized redwood <br /> shavings. Add to these six(6) pounds of 0-10-10 slow-release dry fertilizer, 1.5 lbs. <br /> Page 17 <br />
