commercial kitchen, to be used for Parish events such as weddings, baptisms, and funeral receptions.
Timing dependent upon capital campaign and construction schedules.
The total estimates for complete migration to Pleasanton is up to 15 years to complete the total project of
the MPB, a new Byzantine church, and all associated site improvements. The initial time period of 2-5
years will allow the RGOC to remain in Castro Valley, with proceeds from the sale of Church property
being used to fund the initial building phase.
The timeline allows for the raising of capital funds for success, at the same time adhering to the
Conditions of Approval for the project.
A full commercial kitchen will be part of the application to serve the needs of the Church. The
parish has numerous events for the benefit of its parishioners and local community. These events
include, but are not limited to, Community Food Pantry (unprepared food — groceries — as an extension
of the county Food Bank), Stewardship appreciation lunches, Mother's Day Brunch, Palm Sunday
Lunch, Carnival (Mardi Gras) Dinner Dance, New Year's Eve Dinner Dance, Annual Crab Feed, and
Annual Greek Food & Cultural Festival. The commercial kitchen serves the needs of the parish for these
events, allowing all food preparation to take place on-site and for the benefit of the parish and the local
community. The kitchen will not be used commercially in the conduct of a business, other than for the
annual Greek Festival, nor will it be leased to third -party organizations. As a result, food/beverage/and
related deliveries to the site are generally limited to only those dates that special events are planned (see
tables below) and typically do not exceed one delivery per week.
RGOC will not operate daycare or preschool programs. At the current location in Castro Valley a
third -parry Montessori leases space for daycare. It is the intent of the Parish that the Pleasanton location
will offer no daycare or preschool. In addition, no intent to lease space for the benefit of others to
operate.
RGOC will not operate special summer religious programs (camps/classes). High attendance
programs do not occur during the summer to allow for family vacations and outside activities. Annual
Summer Camp for kids is located in Dunlap, Ca., Yosemite foothills and is owned and operated by the
Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco (the Diocese).
Exhibit A - A complete 2020 Calendar Year of Church activities is attached for reference and
verification. Source is the Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church website. Events are subject to
modification based on parishioner needs and creation of new Ministries.
Activity Levels and Typical Hours of Operation
The proposed hours of operation for parish activities are generally Monday thru Friday 8.00AM to
9:30PM with the majority of activity 6:30PM to 9:OOPM; Saturdays 8:00 AM to 5:00PM, (the exception
for Saturday is wedding and baptism receptions which will go until 11:00 PM or within the relevant
ordinances of the City of Pleasanton); and Sundays 8:30AM to 5:0OPM. Sunday has the biggest intensity
of daytime activity and patrons for weekly Church services.
Parking - According to the Site Plan RGOC has 121 off-street parking stalls. Numbers are calculated
based on 1 parking space for each 6 fixed seats or 1 parking space for each 60 feet of floor area usable
for seating if seats are not fixed, except office work. That being said, the 121 on-site parking stalls
