November 12, 2424
City of Pleasanton
Community Development, Planning Division
200 Old Bernal Avenue
Pleasanton, Ca. 94566
RECEIVED
June 2, 2421
PUD -1 14-01 M
CITY OF PLEASANTON
PLANNING DIVISION
EXHIBIT B
RE: Application for Modified PUD and Conditional Use Permit 11300 Dublin Canyon Road
Enclosed is the application submitted on behalf of Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church (the
"Applicant") for that portion of property noted at 11300 Dublin Canyon Road, Pleasanton (4.30 AC), for
a conditional use permit to allow the operation of Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church (RGOC) for
a new campus with maximum future capacity (20+ years) of 350 attendees in a worship center
(Church). Currently the Church has approximately 200 pledged members, with weekly attendance
averaging approximately 138 persons for Sunday services (see table below).
The new construction will comprise a church and a Multi-purpose Building (MPB). The Project is
intended to be completed in phases. The first phase (Phase 1) will be to prepare the site for subsequent
construction (utilities, grading, pads, landscaping, hardscaping). The second phase (Phase 2) will be the
construction of a traditional Byzantine architecture church. The third phase is to construct the MPB,
which may be further split into sub -phases depending on tinning of securing both internal and external
funding.
Strategic Plan — Master Plan Phasing Program
Phases 1&2 — 24-60 months:
Comprises the site preparation, utilities, and infrastructure construction consistent with Conditions of
Approval. This phase will also include landscaping and hardscaping, also consistent with the Conditions
of Approval.
The construction of a Byzantine Church for seating up to 350 persons. Exact tinning dependent upon
capital campaign and construction schedules.
At completion stage, the current Castro Valley location will likely be sold and RGOC would move to the
new facility in Pleasanton.
Phase 3 — 5 to 15 years to completion.
Construction of the MPS, which may be done in sub -phases. Building is to include administrative
offices, conference rooms, storage facilities and study rooms for religious instructions. The study rooms
are not intended for operating a school; rather, these rooms are to be used for religious instruction
(catechism) for the youth of our parish during Sunday liturgy primarily. The rooms will also likely be
used for various youth events and get-togethers (fellowship; arts/crafts; extension of catechism classes).
The capacity of the rooms is shown in the architectural drawings. The office space in the MPB is for the
presiding priest, a potential second priest, a deacon, a youth director, a communications coordinator, a
finance/accounting resource, and an administrative assistant. These individuals are the full-time staff and
volunteers that are likely to use the MPS offices Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The
smaller halls in the facility, other than the hall that will be used as a temporary worship center, will be
used for periodic meetings and folk -dance practices. There will be music playing in these situations, but
all noise will be within the parameters of City ordinances. The building will also include a full gym, a
