BACKGROUND <br /> The City requires specialized legal expertise for general advice, representation in <br /> administrative proceedings, investigations, and other legal work in the area of labor and <br /> employment on an as needed basis. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The City has an existing Professional Services Agreement with Burke, Williams & <br /> Sorensen LLP originally entered into on October 31, 2018 for an amount not to exceed <br /> $100,000 for specialized legal advice and representation on an as-needed basis. The <br /> term of the Agreement continues until October 31, 2023. A First Amendment was <br /> approved on June 26, 2020 in the amount of$50,000 and a Second Amendment was <br /> approved on August 18, 2020 in the amount of $100,000.
