BY <br /> INCREASING THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT FROM $250,000 TO <br /> $350,000 FOR FY 2020/21 AND FY 2021/22 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Utilities Division of the Operations Services Department is responsible for ensuring <br /> that the potable water pumping stations,sewer lift stations, and storm pump stations are <br /> designed and capable to run off generators in the event of an emergency or a Public <br /> Safety Power Shutoff(PSPS)event. <br /> In July2019, the City entered into an agreement with Got Power, Inc. for both the repair <br /> of City owned back-up generators and as-needed rental of temporary back-up <br /> generators, in addition to after-hours and weekend emergency repairs. This contract is <br /> used to support both City generators and the Castlewood water system's two <br /> generators. <br /> Staff is requesting to amend the Got Power Inc, agreement for an additional $100,000 <br /> for a total not-to-exceed amount of$350,000. The current contract amount is$250,000. <br /> The proposed amendment adds $80,458 for the rental of the two Castlewood water <br /> system generators which is a reimbursable expense paid by Alameda County Public <br /> Works Agency.Staff is requesting an additional $19,542 to pay for higher-than- <br /> expected maintenance and repair costs on City owned generators. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Authorize the City Manager to amend the agreement with Got Power Inc. by increasing <br /> the not-to-exceed amountfrom $250,000 to $350,000 for FY 2020/21 & FY 2021/22. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The agreement with Got Power, Inc. is funded by the Water and Sewer Repair and <br /> Replacement Funds in FY 2020/21. Cost incurred for the Castlewood water and sewer <br /> system is reimbursed by the Alameda County Public Works Agency. Funding has been <br /> budgeted for FY 2021/22. <br />
