13 THE CITY OF irsow en prLEASANTON, CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT June 1, 2021 Operations Services TITLE: APPROVE SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR AS-NEEDED GENERATOR RENTAL& REPAIR SERVICES WITH GOT POWER INC. BY INCREASING THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT FROM $250,000 TO $350,000 FOR FY 2020/21 AND FY 2021/22 SUMMARY The Utilities Division of the Operations Services Department is responsible for ensuring that the potable water pumping stations,sewer lift stations, and storm pump stations are designed and capable to run off generators in the event of an emergency or a Public Safety Power Shutoff(PSPS)event. In July2019, the City entered into an agreement with Got Power, Inc. for both the repair of City owned back-up generators and as-needed rental of temporary back-up generators, in addition to after-hours and weekend emergency repairs. This contract is used to support both City generators and the Castlewood water system's two generators. Staff is requesting to amend the Got Power Inc, agreement for an additional $100,000 for a total not-to-exceed amount of$350,000. The current contract amount is$250,000. The proposed amendment adds $80,458 for the rental of the two Castlewood water system generators which is a reimbursable expense paid by Alameda County Public Works Agency.Staff is requesting an additional $19,542 to pay for higher-than- expected maintenance and repair costs on City owned generators. RECOMMENDATION Authorize the City Manager to amend the agreement with Got Power Inc. by increasing the not-to-exceed amountfrom $250,000 to $350,000 for FY 2020/21 & FY 2021/22. FINANCIAL STATEMENT The agreement with Got Power, Inc. is funded by the Water and Sewer Repair and Replacement Funds in FY 2020/21. Cost incurred for the Castlewood water and sewer system is reimbursed by the Alameda County Public Works Agency. Funding has been budgeted for FY 2021/22.
