which performing an OL would raise the crown and increase the cross slopes,
particularly along the parking lane, to an unsatisfactory level.
4. Pavement Milling and Filling (Mill/Fill): This reconstruction method involves the
removal of the existing asphalt concrete layer and base material by milling, then
applying 3 inches of asphalt concrete. This method of repair is used on streets
where the existing pavement surface is so distressed that it must be completely
removed down into the aggregate base prior to street reconstruction. The paving
operation generally takes place the same day of the milling operation.
5. Profile Milling and Overlay (Profile Mill/OL): This reconstruction method involves
the removal of the existing asphalt concrete layer and base material by milling,
then installing 3.5 inches of asphalt concrete as a base course, followed by a
layer of pavement fabric, and finally installing a 1.75-inch finish layer of asphalt
concrete. This method of repair will be used on the section of East Angela Street,
between First and Second Street, where it was discovered that no structural base
course exists, and simply overlaying a complete structural section would create
unacceptable roadway cross slopes.
The column on the right of the table below indicates the treatment method that will be
used on each street section. In addition to these reconstruction methods, several streets
have isolated areas where the pavement is distressed to the point that the existing
asphalt will be removed down to the base aggregate and new pavement will be installed
prior to the reconstruction work described.
STREET NAME BEGIN LOCATION END LOCATION AREA TREATMENT
(SF)
HACIENDA DRIVE 1-580 E/B OFF-RAMP CITY LIMIT(1-580 W/B OFF 74,645 MILUOL
RAMP)
PARKSIDE DRIVE HOPYARD ROAD E/O ARTHUR DR 56,515 OUF
PARKSIDE DRIVE E/O ARTHUR DR MELANIE CIR(EAST) 87,710 OUF
ARTHUR DR HOPYARD RD PARKSIDE DR 57,965 OUF
MORGAN CT ARTHUR DR END 7,979 OUF
BLACK AVE 106'W/O CAMINO BRAZOS HANSEN DR 34,060 OUF
(WEST)
PASEO SANTA VIA DE LOS CERROS VALLEY AVE 73,210 OL/F
CRUZ
CAMINO SEGURA HANSEN DR CORTE FUEGO 27,820 OL/F
CAMINO SEGURA HANSEN DR VIA DE LOS CERROS 38,565 OL/F
CORTE DEL MAR CALLE ALTIMARA END 18,700 OUF
CORTE SANTIAGO CAMINO SEGURA END 8,115 OUF
CORTE DEL REY CAMINO SEGURA END 7,445 OUF
CORTE MUNRAS PASEO SANTA CRUZ END 10,070 OUF
CORTE NINA PASEO SANTA CRUZ END 15,340 OUF
CORTE ROSA PASEO SANTA CRUZ END 15,000 OUF
CORTE PACIFICA PASEO SANTA CRUZ END 14,845 OUF
CORTE SANTA PASEO SANTA CRUZ END 12,475 OL/F
MARIA
CORTE MADRID PASEO SANTA CRUZ END 15,965 OL/F
PASEO SANTA PASEO GRANADA CALLE DE LA LOMA 58,410 OL/F
MARIA
