THE CITY OF <br />Chapter 3 <br />System Description PL£ASANTON. <br />3.3 WATER SYSTEM DESCRIPTION <br />3.3.1 Zone 7 Supply Turnouts <br />Water from Zone 7 enters the City's water system at seven different turnout locations, as follows: <br />• Turnout 1 is located on Santa Rita Road near Stoneridge Drive <br />• Turnout 2 is located on Hopyard Road near Valley Trails Drive <br />• Turnout 3 is located at the east end of West Las Positas Boulevard near Gulfstream Street <br />• Turnout 4 is located on Hopyard Road at Stoneridge Drive <br />• Turnout 5 is located on Bernal Avenue at Nevada Street <br />Turnout 6 is located on Machado Drive at Vineyard Avenue <br />Turnout 7 is located on <br />Vineyard Avenue at Ruby <br />Hills Boulevard\r=�C�' <br />All turnouts are equipped with facilities <br />to fluoridate the water provided by <br />Zone 7 prior to entering the City system. <br />Turnouts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 directly connect to <br />the City system, while turnouts 6 and 7 <br />supply water pump stations that pump into <br />the City water system. <br />3.3.2 Groundwater Wells <br />The City owns and operates three groundwater wells. Water from the City's wells is treated with chlorine, <br />ammonia, and fluoride at the well sites prior to entering into the water distribution system. <br />3.3.3 City Potable Water Distribution System <br />The City's distribution system currently <br />consists of approximately 327 miles of <br />pipelines and 22,369 water service <br />connections. There are 14 pump stations, <br />22 water storage reservoirs, and one <br />hydropneumatic tank in the distribution <br />system.
