Working with <br />business partners, particularly ITV, to promote life <br />sciences in Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley, meeting with <br />commercial brokers to pitch Pleasanton as a location for <br />life sciences companies, and directly facilitating <br />attraction and expansion of life sciences companies <br />such as Kiverdi and 10X Genomics. Economic <br />Development staff is also developing a life sciences <br />attraction program to be implemented in the first half of <br />2021. <br />EVC Priority #1 <br />X X X X X <br />Develop Coordinated Business <br />Support Program <br />Develop a coordinated business support program to include <br />key strategies such as a 'shop local' campaign, and business <br />communication/promotion with emphasis on COVID recovery. <br />ED No A <br />Underway In response to COVID-19, implemented a Council- <br />approved Business Assistance Program with emphasis <br />on Communications and Promotion, Transient <br />Occupancy Tax Penalties Waiver, City Utilities Penalties <br />Waiver and Deposit Deferral, and a Business Support <br />Fund. Guided implementation of downtown Main Street <br />weekend closure to allow for expanded outdoor service <br />areas for merchants. Host regular business partner <br />check-ins to share information and assistance.
