FOR THE PIONEER CEMETERY SOUTH HILL <br /> IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, CIP NO. 21765 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Pioneer Cemetery South Hill Improvements Project is the fourth phase of <br /> improvements to the cemetery identified in the 2014 Pleasanton Pioneer Cemetery <br /> Master Plan. The south hill improvements include the installation of a committal <br /> structure and plaza for burials, improvements to the potter's field, construction of a <br /> pathway connecting the parking and storage areas to the committal plaza and potter's <br /> field, installation of additional signage and hanging flower baskets. The project also <br /> includes landscape improvements to the south hill area, furnishings, additional parking, <br /> and a dedication plaque. Construction of all work is complete and ready for acceptance <br /> by City Council. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the project and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice <br /> of Completion. <br /> 2. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of$30,045 to Suarez & Munoz <br /> Construction, Inc. 30 days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 3. Transfer the project balance to the Pioneer Cemetery Master Plan Implementation <br /> Reserve, CIP No. 16446. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for construction of this project totaled $800,000. The cost of construction was <br /> $600,896, which included the original construction contract award of$598,000, and two <br /> change orders totaling $2,896. Total project expenditures, including design, <br /> construction, and other miscellaneous expenses are $715,913, leaving a project <br /> balance of$84,087. Staff recommends the remaining project balance be transferred to <br /> the Pioneer Cemetery Master Plan Implementation Reserve, CIP No. 16446. Project <br /> funding and expenditures are outlined in Attachment 1. <br />
