14 POINTS <br />Households where at least one member of the signators of the tenant lease or purchase <br />agreement (and who is a member of the household) is either a Pleasanton resident or a <br />Pleasanton employee at the time of application and has continuously lived or worked in <br />the City of Pleasanton less than two vears prior to the time of application. <br />12 POINTS <br />Household were at least one member of the signators of the tenant lease or purchase <br />agreement (and who is a member of the household) has an immediate relative (defined <br />as a son, daughter, brother, sister, and/or parent) who is a Pleasanton resident at the <br />time of application, provided the immediate relative has lived in the City of Pleasanton for <br />at least two years prior to the time of application. <br />10 POINTS <br />All other households. <br />In addition to the above points, one (1) bonus point will be given to households which <br />meet one or more of the following criteria: a) single parent head of household; b) <br />disabled person as defined herein; c) households in which at least one of the signators of <br />the tenant lease or purchase agreement has been a Pleasanton resident for seven <br />continuous years or longer prior to the time of application. A maximum of one (1) bonus <br />point may be awarded to any one household. <br />Proposed Citv's Preference Svstem for the DPA Proqram <br />City staff is proposing the following modifications to the existing preference system in <br />order to assist public serving employees in receiving a DPA Program loan by retaining <br />the exiting 21 point system (including the opportunity for an additional bonus point if you <br />are a single parent household, have a disabled person in the household, or one of the <br />household members has lived in Pleasanton for seven continuous years or longer), but <br />adding the additional opportunity for the following bonus points: <br />In addition to the above points, two (2) bonus points will be given to any <br />household where at least one member of the signators of a Down Payment <br />Assistance Program applicant (and who is a member of the household) is <br />employed by the Pleasanton School District, the City of Pleasanton, the <br />Livermore -Pleasanton Fire Department, Alameda County, or any not for profit <br />agency providing social services to the residents of Pleasanton. <br />This proposed preference system for the DPA Program would only be utilized in <br />providing DPA Program loans to assist homebuyers in purchasing market -rate homes. <br />The existing 21 -point preference system for the Below Market Rate (BMR) rental and <br />homeownership units would remain intact and unchanged. If City Council believes this <br />additional preference criteria should also apply to BMR units, staff will similarly amend <br />that criteria. <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
