This effort is also expected to dovetail with the upcoming update to the Housing <br /> Element such that objective standards can be established for sites that are eventually <br /> considered for the Housing Element. Secondly, the project scope includes establishing <br /> objective design standards for other types of residential development, such as two-, three-, <br /> and four-plexes, which are housing types that are allowable in several zoning districts today; <br /> these standards would be implemented upon adoption of legislation pertaining to these <br /> housing types. <br /> To assist with determining key area of interest and concern for both of these efforts, the project <br /> team (consisting of staff and architectural firm Van Meter Williams Pollack (VMWP)) developed <br /> a self-guided site tour of recent projects. <br /> Self-Guided Tour <br /> At the December 9, 2020 Planning Commission meeting, the Planning Commission was <br /> requested to complete a self-guided tour of seven recently constructed projects in Pleasanton <br /> at varying densities. The purpose of the tour was to provide an opportunity for in-person <br /> observations of the projects and provide both general feedback and respond to specific <br /> questions about each site. To give the Planning Commission adequate time to complete the <br /> tour and report back, staff requested that each member of the Planning Commission provide <br /> his/her feedback no later than the end of the day, Sunday, January 10 (after the date for <br /> distribution of this agenda report). Therefore, while this report incorporates feedback received <br /> to-date, additional comments from the Planning Commission will be incorporated into the <br /> presentation and discussion during the meeting on January 13. The Commission will also <br /> have the opportunity to provide additional comments at the January 13 meeting. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> Site Tour Locations and Questions <br /> The self-guided site tour consists of seven locations, two of which are smaller-scale infill sites <br /> located downtown, and others being larger-scale developments throughout the city.
