8 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> -�` - � CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLE ASANTON. <br /> December 15, 2020 <br /> Human Resources <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PURCHASE ORDER BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AND STANFORD HEALTH CARE VALLEYCARE FOR COVID-19 TESTS, <br /> PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMS, AND OTHER SIMILAR SERVICES <br /> IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $135,000 FOR THE REMAINING <br /> 2020/21 FISCAL YEAR <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton (City) uses Stanford Health Care ValleyCare (ValleyCare) for <br /> occupational health services and pre-employment medical exams for finalist candidates <br /> in the Police Department, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, and certain positions <br /> in the Operations Services Department. On July 1, 2020, the City issued a purchase <br /> order in the amount of$100,000 to include COVID-19 tests for employees re-entering <br /> the workplace after Alameda County's shelter-in-place, COVID-19 tests as a pre- <br /> employment requirement and for employees experiencing symptoms of or having been <br /> exposed to COVID-19. The City's needs for these services have exceeded the current <br /> $100,000 purchase order. The proposed purchase order of up to $135,000 is <br /> anticipated to accommodate all employee COVID-19 testing needs and routine <br /> ValleyCare services through June 30, 2021. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends City Council approve a purchase order between the City and <br /> ValleyCare in an amount not to exceed $135,000 for employee COVID-19 assessment <br /> and testing, and routine occupational health services through June 30, 2021. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Of the $135,000 proposed purchase order, $35,000 is included in the current Human <br /> Resources Department FY 2020/21 budget. The remaining $100,000 will be addressed <br /> in the FY 2020/21 Mid-year budget review. <br />
