7 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> it 11_ <br /> 111 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> December 15, 2020 <br /> HUMAN RESOURCES <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE TEMPORARY, PART- <br /> TIME/SEASONAL CLASSIFICATION SALARY STRUCTURE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Compensation for temporary employees is established by the City Council and reflected <br /> on the City's publicly posted Temporary, Part-time/Seasonal Classification Salary <br /> Structure. On January 1, 2021, the California minimum wage will increase from $13 per <br /> hour to $14 per hour requiring adjustments to the salary structure to meet this mandate. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> City Council adopt a resolution approving changes to the attached Temporary, Part- <br /> time/Seasonal Classification Salary Structure, effective January 1, 2021. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The expected impact in Fiscal Year 2020-21 will be approximately $2,500 ($5,000 <br /> annually) based on existing temporary, part-time and seasonal staff', which will be <br /> incorporated in the midyear update to the City's budget. The fiscal impact beyond FY <br /> 2020/21 will depend on the extent to which the City hires additional temporary, part- <br /> time, and seasonal staff. <br /> 1 Currently, classifications affected by the hourly rate increase include Library Page, Apprentice/Intern, <br /> Recreation Leader II, Pre-school Aide, Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, Program Assistant and <br /> Clerical Assistant. <br />
