10
THE CITY OF
. "n '"` CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pLE ASANTON
December 1, 2020
Library and Recreation
TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR PER
CAPITA GRANT FUNDS
SUMMARY
The State of California, Natural Resources Agency, Department of Parks and
Recreation and Office of Grants and Local Services have distributed information on the
California Drought, Water, Parks, Climate, Coastal Protection and Outdoor Access for
All Act of 2018 Per Capita Program.
The Per Capita Program provides funds for local park rehabilitation, creation, and
improvement grants to local governments on a per capita basis. Grant recipients are
encouraged to utilize awards to rehabilitate existing infrastructure and to address park
deficiencies in neighborhoods.
To receive the $227,147 allotted to the City of Pleasanton, the City must adopt a
resolution and submit an application.
Staff is recommending the funding be utilized for the all-abilities playground project.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution approving the application for Per Capita Grant funds for the all-
abilities playground project.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The projected cost for the all-abilities playground is $4-$5 million. Should the City
receive both the Per Capita Program funding ($177,952) and the Urban County Per
Capita funding ($49,195), it would help reduce the overall cost of the playground.
