CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> November 17, 2020 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: APPROVE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br /> AGREEMENT WITH DUDEK FOR DESIGN SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT <br /> OF $22,680 FOR THE DOWNHILL-ONLY MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL AT <br /> AUGUSTIN BERNAL PARK PROJECT, CIP NO. 20771 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On August 4, 2020, City Council approved contracts with Dudek for environmental <br /> services and with Action Sports Construction for design and construction services for <br /> the Augustin Bernal Downhill-Only Mountain Bike Trail Project, CIP No. 20771. Action <br /> Sports Construction was unable to obtain the insurance required by the City under the <br /> approved contract terms, so the City was unable to enter into a contract with Action <br /> Sports Construction. Since Dudek, who is now under contract with the City, has <br /> experience designing trail projects and is already involved in providing environmental <br /> services, City staff recommends approving a contract amendment for trail design <br /> services with Dudek in the amount of $22,680. When the design and environmental <br /> permitting is complete, the project will be publicly bid for construction. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . Authorize the City Manager to approve Amendment No. 1 to the professional <br /> services agreement with Dudek in the amount of $22,680. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> $130,000 was budgeted for the Augustin Bernal Downhill Only Mountain Bike Trail, CIP <br /> 20771 , to complete the design, environmental permitting, and construction of the <br /> project. Including this amendment, expenses to date total $68,820, leaving a balance of <br /> $61 ,180 available for bidding and construction. Funding and anticipated project <br /> expenditures for CIP No. 20771 are detailed in Attachment 1. <br />
