BACKGROUND <br />A Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking weed abatement and fire vegetation <br />management services was advertised in August 2020. After reviewing all RFP's, staff <br />determined that the proposal from Terra Landscape most fully met the criteria and <br />qualifications for the project. In addition, Terra Landscape, provided a competitive <br />tractor services quote of $225 per hour and the lowest as -needed hourly rate of $41.33. <br />A total of four (4) proposals were received for this project on August 18, 2020. The four <br />bidders included Aquatic Harvesting, Northern Landscape Management, Hanford, and <br />Terra Landscape. Project administration is under the direction of the Parks <br />Maintenance Division of the Operation Services Department. <br />Operations Services staff currently manages 149 weed abatement locations throughout <br />the City. The work is performed for fire suppression, to maintain health of planted <br />landscaping, and for aesthetic reasons. <br />Within the City's boundaries weed abatement locations include: <br />• Roadside right-of-ways <br />• City owned lots <br />• Bioswales <br />• Drainage ditches <br />• Open space locations <br />• Utilities water tanks and lift stations <br />• City parks <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
